Man With 2 Active Warrants Caught With Loaded Pistols In Peekskill Traffic Stop: Police

A traffic stop in Westchester led to the arrest of a wanted man and the discovery of two loaded firearms, police said.

The bust happened on Sunday, March 9, at around 4:30 p.m., when an officer conducted a traffic stop on the 1000 block of Park Street in Peekskill, the Peekskill Police Department announced on Monday, March 10. 

The driver, identified as Justin Arjani, was found to be driving with a suspended license, police said. Authorities then found that Arjani had two active arrest warrants issued by the City of Peekskill Court. 

Before impounding the vehicle, officers searched the car and found two loaded 9mm Taurus GX4 pistols as well as two high-capacity magazines, the department said.

Arjani was taken into police custody and charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. 

He is currently being held in custody, awaiting arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
